Detailed Overview/Outline This workshop explores some of the primary disciplines in the human resources function. While obtaining exposure to a wide variety of topics - and an equally wide slate of experts who will be facilitating discussion of those topics - you will collaborate with seasoned professionals, and with each other, as you gain insight, acquire knowledge, and develop skills. Cancellations and transfers are subject to a 25% charge unless received in writing one week prior to the program. Katz, President, Penguin Human Resources Consulting. Mr. Katz has extensive experience in human resources, training, and management development. Formerly, he was vice president, employee relations training, Chase Manhattan Bank. He is the author of “Recruiting Strategies for Today’s Staffing Trends” in Employee Relations Today. Nancy Lampen, Director, Human Resources and Management Development Programs, Cornell University-ILR, Rochester. She designs, teaches, and manages programs in the areas of interpersonal and organizational communications, crisis communication, and train-the-trainer. Formerly, she was a professor of communications and was selected for Who's Who in America's Teachers, 1998 Edition. J. Kirk Menard,President, Menard International Search, a leading executive search firm that specializes in recruitment and placement of R&D executives for firms in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Prior experience includes dean of Sage Junior College of Albany and professor of management in the Sage Graduate School MBA Program. Susan F. Alevas, Private Attorney and President of Alevas Consulting Group, Inc., a management consulting/training firm. Ms. Alevas's management career includes both public- and private-sector executive and inhouse counsel leadership in HR and labor relations. Having donated her legal services to the survivors and families of September 11th, Ms. Alevas now serves as a volunteer mentor through the Long Island Works Coalition. Cathy Lee Gibson,MBA, SPHR, is the President of NovaCore Performance Consulting, LLC. Ms. Gibson possesses more than 20 years of training, consulting, HR, and management experience from a range of industries, organizations, and sectors. She most recently served as the Director of Human Resource Management Programs at Cornell University’s ILR School. In this role, Ms. Gibson designed and directed all aspects of the human resource management program and instructed and facilitated numerous public and on-site workshops for managers and HR professionals. Her expertise spans a variety of topics, with a particular focus on strategic interviewing and performance management initiatives. . Lolita Chandler, President, The Chandler Group, Inc., an executive resource company. Ms. Chandler combines her years of experience promoting diversity and multiculturalism in education and business to offer coaching and consulting services in diversity development to business, education, and not-for-profit organizations. Ms. Chandler recently served as the director of diversity for Avon Products. Nancy G. Lynch, SPHR, Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources for Human Resource Consulting Associates (HRCA), which provides services in human resources, training, and organizational development. Ms. Lynch specializes in helping organizations to improve performance at all levels. She has more than 15 years of experience in human resource management, training and organization development.
