Sponsor Background:
ASTM, celebrated it's 100th anniversary in 1998, is one of the world's largest voluntary standards development organizations. ASTM standards have grown to be among the world's most widely used and accepted documents. The 81-volume Annual Book of ASTM Standards contains over 12,000 standards written by 34,000 members on our 140 technical committees. These standards and related information are widely used throughout the world as the basis of purchasing and other contracts, codes, laws and regulations. ASTM Committee D-2 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants developed the standard used in this course.

Instructor(s):
Ron Tharby

Instructor Background:
Ron Tharby, a transportation fuels consultant in North America and Europe, has been involved with research and technical service in transportation fuels and engine performance interactions for over 25 years. During his career, he has researched the relationships between fuel consumption, engine performance, and emissions for both diesel and gasoline powered engines. He has lectured at universities and major industry meetings, and has published papers on both diesel and gasoline engine performance topics.

Quote From Past Participants:
