This workshop concentrates on developing and administering a legally acceptable affirmative action plan (AAP) and handling a compliance review form the OFCCP. Topics covered: the legal meaning of affirmative action; components of an AAP; practical aspects of implementing an AAP; and preparing for an OFCCP compliance review. Instructor Background:
Glenn Barlett, Principal, Glenn Barlett Consulting Services, a firm specializing in the preparation of affirmative action programs, the statistical analysis of personnel data, and the development of EEO data systems. Formerly, he was Director of Planning and Support, New York Region, OFCCP, U.S. Department of Labor.

Linda Cavanna-Wilk, Partner, Winston and Strawn, New York Labor and Employment Law Department. Ms. Cavanna-Wilk represents management clients in EEO law, including employment discrimination and wrongful discharge matters. She counsels clients regarding policy and procedure development, the development of employee handbooks, sexual harassment, FMLA, FLSA, and related issues.

Christopher J. Metzler, Esq., Managing Partner, Novellae Group, a consulting and strategic issue development firm specializing in organizational development, organizational inclusion, and enhancing culture capacity and practice approaches to employment-related litigation. He has significant experience in workplace harassment issues, the legal environment of human resources, and results-oriented management.

Mr. Busch is responsible for planning and directing the enforcement of EEO laws for federal contractors and subcontractors nationally. He has 23 years’ experience in civil rights, human resources, EEO, affirmative action, labor laws, and discrimination.

William A. Carmell, Employment Law Practice Group,Winston & Strawn, New York City.Mr. Carmell has 25 years of experience in employment law, including as staff counsel at Union Carbide. He has represented multinational corporations and has experience in Title VII and ADEA class actions, single-plaintiff litigation on behalf of management, reductions in force, and affirmative action law.

Shirley Wilcher, President, Wilcher Global, LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in diversity management, affirmative action, contract compliance, and government relations. A leading authority on equal opportunity and diversity policy, Ms. Wilcher recently served as executive director of Americans for a Fair Chance, a consortium of six civil rights legal organizations formed to serve as an educational resource on affirmative action.
