Detailed Overview/Outline
Advances in technology have enabled organizations to locate employees closer to their customers and enabled employees to work remotely from their traditional offices. Added to this is the trend in outsourcing to strategic partners.
These initiatives increase the challenge of managing individual work performance and achieving overall business objectives amidst a lack of face-to-face interaction between managers, employees, vendors, and teams.
One thing seems clear: managers need new ways to motivate, direct, evaluate, and lead employees that they rarely see in this new "virtual" workplace. In this workshop, you will learn to:
- Build a responsive, committed, and cohesive dispersed work team
- Manage multiple locations, vendors, and outsourced resources throughout the globe
- Create a collaborative environment between remote employees
- Effectively link people, processes, and technology to improve performance
- Achieve the business results you expect from distant workers, vendors, and the virtual workplace
Who Will Benefit? Managers in almost any business function who oversee multi-site organizations, outsourced employees and vendors, or manage individuals who work at home or other distant locations; human resources managers
