PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND REQUIREMENTS

I. Pre-Work

Prior to the workshop, participants receive the ROI Tutorial and a case study with questions. They prepare their answers using the ROI Estimation Tool also submitted in advance of the workshop

II. Core Curriculum

During this intensive certification program, gain know-how and practical tools in topics such as:

  • Understanding how ROI and change are integrated
  • Building a business case for change
  • Linking organizational goals to initiative objectives
  • Estimating and forecasting ROI
  • Building credibility for the evaluation
  • Leveraging evaluation to drive greater value from the initiative
  • Developing a strategy for communicating results
  • Working in a collaborative team atmosphere to explore case studies that deepen the learning and provide a bridge to application
  • Program participants are organized in learning teams to work collaboratively throughout the program.

III. Targeted Post-Work Coaching

After completing the Bottom-Line OD: A Structured Process for Improving Return on Investment program, take part in two coaching conference calls with your facilitator and your learning teams.

The first call explores participant ideas on applying concepts learned during the Bottom-Line OD program to personal work responsibilities. In addition, this call provides a valuable opportunity to share best practices and receive coaching from the facilitator.

The second call provides you with an opportunity to share with your team what you have done (or what you are planning to do) for your application project. This call provides an additional opportunity to gain insights and share perspectives on ways to apply the concepts, methods, and tools learned during the program.

IV. Submission of Project for Certification

To complete the requirements for certification, you submit a project for review by Dr. Merrill Anderson and the team of senior facilitators from Linkage. Examples of application projects include:

  • Developing an evaluation architecture that includes business goals, initiative objectives, and evaluation objectives
  • Developing a data collection plan and collecting the required data
  • Evaluating how effectively participants in an OD/HR initiative applied ROI concepts to their workplace issues
  • Conducting an ROI study or forecast
  • The project will be reviewed for completeness, quality, relevance to OD/HR evaluation, and impact on the organization.

Merrill C. Anderson, Ph.D., is a business consulting executive, author, and educator with 20 years experience improving the performance of people and organizations. Dr. Anderson is the chief executive officer of MetrixGlobal LLC, a professional services firm that partners with business leaders to maximize the value of people and change initiatives. Dr. Anderson’s recent book, Bottom-Line Organization Development, breaks new ground in applying powerful evaluation methodology to increase bottom-line value from strategic change initiatives. He was recently recognized as the 2003 ASTD ROI Practitioner of the Year.

Registration and Cancellation Policy
A credit card number is required at the time of registration to process the registration. If full payment is not received four weeks prior to the program, the credit card will be charged at that time. Full payment is required upon registration for any registrations received within four weeks of the program.

All workshop registration fees include a non-refundable processing fee of $100 except in the case of Leading Through Communication: The Linkage Communication Clinic, Pathways: The Linkage Leadership Program, and The Crisis Leadership Certification Program (where such fee equals $200) and The Coaching Leaders Certification Program (where such fee equals $400). The processing fee will be charged for any cancellation made at any time or for rescheduling requests made within three weeks prior to the workshop date. Please note that registration fees and workshop schedules are subject to change without notice.

We encourage participants to arrive at 8:00AM for sign-in on the first day of the program they are scheduled to attend. All workshops are scheduled to begin at 8:30AM, and end at approximately 4:30PM. The exceptions are the programs offered in The Organizational Development Certificate Program held at DePaul University in Chicago which begin at 9:00AM, and end at approximately 5:00PM. For these programs only, please arrive at 8:30AM for sign in.

Workshop Admissions and Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made within three weeks prior to the program will receive a courtesy transfer to an upcoming workshop, within one year of the originally scheduled workshop, for the amount of the registration fee minus the $100-$400 processing fee per session. Alternatively, you can send someone in your place to the original event to avoid such fee. All cancellations and substitutions must be made in writing. Program registrants who fail to attend without notification will be charged the full attendance fee.

Linkage reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any event. In the event of program cancellation, we make every effort to notify participants 3-5 weeks prior to the event. Therefore, we recommend purchasing a refundable airfare. Please be advised that Linkage is not responsible for any airfare penalties, travel, or hotel charges that may be incurred due to cancelled or rescheduled events.

Workshop Prohibitions: Any unauthorized use of the copyrighted Linkage materials that participants receive at any Linkage training program is strictly prohibited. Solicitation of business from fellow workshop participants is also strictly prohibited. External consultants will be asked to sign a nondisclosure form indicating their agreement with the above.
